an Ebba Jahn film with Oxford Improvisers
Oxford Improvisers have had the honour to work with German filmmaker Ebba Jahn to create a short film which will be premiered by Mopomoso on Sunday 18 April, 2pm BST.
Growing up in Oberhausen, Germany, location of the oldest international shortfilm festival worldwide, Ebba Jahn has gone on to develop a unique practice combining her interests in fine art, poetry and in particular, improvised music. A recent profusion of projects many featuring fine improvisers have gained international recognition with a long list of film festival selections (see filmfreeway.com/EbbaJahn).
“Time for Video” uses images of OI players’ instruments and the spaces in which the music was recorded simultaneously from Oxford to Dubai and mixed by Gero Kempf.
We are most grateful to Mopomoso for featuring “Time for Video” in their upcoming premiere release this Sunday 18 April, 2pm BST, which you’ll find at youtube.com/mopomoso
