John Tchicai / John Edwards / Tony Marsh
The all-star trio of John Tchicai (saxophones), John Edwards (double bass) and Tony Marsh (drums). By approaching jazz from a wide scope, Afro-Danish-American John Tchicai has been continuously progressive throughout his life. Tchicai became a leading exponent of the jazz avant-garde in New York in the '60s and a father figure for the European avant-garde after that. By a single-mindedness of purpose and action, his work still reflects what he's always been doing, which is to innovate and inspire other people, in a most refreshing way. Tchicai has recorded with both John Coltrane ("Ascension"), John Lennon ("Life with Lions") and Albert Ayler ("New York Eye and Ear Control") he founded ensembles like "New York Art Quartet", "Cadentia Nova Danica" and "John Tchicai & the Archetypes"

Lawrence Casserley / Adam Linson
Lawrence Casserley (signal processing instrument and voice) & Adam Linson (double bass, live processing and sampling) met first when Adam joined the Evan Parker Electro-Acoustic Ensemble for the Free RadiCCAls festival at the CCA, Glasgow in November, 2004. They formed an almost instant rapport, which has continued ever since. All About Jazz wrote about their duo CD (released last year on Parker's Psi label): "The twosome engages in a free-form dialogue, where Casserley's signal processing sounds like shards of metal spewing across the studio. Then Linson heightens the intensity due to his soaring arco bass phrasings that seem to extract notions of loneliness and isolation; vivid imagery is inherent within the preponderance of these pieces."
